1. Ashok Chakra

Ashok Chakra is the highest Peacetime Gallantry Military Award. This Award is awarded for Valour, Courageous Action, or Self-Sacrifices shown away from the battlefield. Ashok Chakra was established on  4th Jan  1952. On 27 Jan 1967, the decoration was removed from the "class-based" system and was renamed The Ashok Chakra. Ashok Chakra is the peacetime equivalent of the Param Vir Chakra(PVC). For Wartime Gallantry Awards only military personal are eligible but Peacetime Gallantry can be awarded either to military or civilian personnel.

Ashok Chakra is equivalent to Medal of Honour of The British George Cross, the peacetime gallantry award of the US Army.
Ashok Chakra is a circular gold gilt medal in a shape with a diameter of 1-3/8 inches. On the front side of the medal, there is a chakra of the Ashoka surrounded by a lotus wreath and an ornate edge. On the rear side of the medal, Ashok Chakra is written in Hindi and in English which is divided by two lotus flowers.

The ribbon is dark green in color with a 2mm central Saffron stripe the total breadth of the ribbon is 32mm. 86 people have been awarded this award till 2021, The first-ever Ashok  Chakra was awarded to Naik Narabahadur Thapa, He was the first person among Flight Lieutenant Suhas Biswas and Havildar 
Bachittar Singh.

2. Kirti Chakra (KC)

Kirti Chakra is the Second Highest Peacetime Military decoration. It was established on 4 Jan 1952 as Ashok Chakra Class II, But later on, it was renamed Kirti Chakra on 27 Jan 1967. Kirti  Chakra (KC) is awarded for Valour, Courageous Action, or self-sacrifice. It is the peacetime equivalent of the Maha Vir Chakra. It is made up of standard silver, circular in shape with 1-3/8 inches of diameter. On the front side of the medal, the Chakra of Ashoka is surrounded by a Lotus wreath. On the rear side of the medal, Kirti Chakra is written in Hindi and in English which is divided by two lotus flowers. The ribbon is dark green in color with a 2mm central Saffron stripe the total breadth of the ribbon is 30mm. More than 400+ people have been awarded the Kirti Chakra. 

3. Shaurya Chakra (SRC)

Shaurya Chakra is the third highest Peacetime Military decoration. It was established on 4 Jan 1952 as Ashok Chakra Class III, But later on, it was renamed Shaurya Chakra on 27 Jan 1967. Shaurya Chakra (SRC) is awarded for Courageous Action while not Engaged in Direct Action with the Enemy.  It is made up of standard Bronze, Circular in shape with 1-3/8 inches of diameter.  On the front side of the medal, the Chakra of Ashoka is surrounded by a Lotus wreath. On the rear side of the medal, Shaurya Chakra is written in Hindi and in English which is divided by two lotus flowers. The ribbon is dark green in color with three 2mm central Orange stripes the total breadth of the ribbon is 30mm.
